Nau mai, haere mai - A huge welcome to our members

A warm welcome to all our dedicated WMG members and everyone who has recently joined us. We are pleased to have you as part of our community and thank you for your continued support and commitment to our cause.

Our brand new WMG website is now Live………

Our website team have been working on a refreshed WMG website and an updated social media presence. These developments will help us strengthen connections, share information and make it easier for members and supporters to stay informed.

The new website will, as we progress, provide access to:

  • Current events, announcements and updates.

  • Information about WMG membership and how to join.

  • Joining or creating community/minengas and what this looks like

  • A dedicated financial members portal

  • We will also be working towards holding members' meetings where there can be topical open discussions on matters that are important to you, the members, or just so you can get to meet fellow members for a chat

  • Our historical library and important documents.

  • Resources to help members understand our kaupapa and its historical foundations.

We look forward to sharing further updates as the new website takes shape. Over time, we would like to provide some interactive meetings for open discussion

We also look forward to you, the members, telling us what you our members would like to see on the website

Commemorating He Wakaputanga - 191 years

On 28 October 2026, we commemorate 191 years since He Wakaputanga o te Rangatiratanga o Nu Tireni, the Declaration of Independence, was signed in 1835.

This significant anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the rangatira who signed the Declaration, their vision and their determination to affirm the independence and authority of Nu Tireni.

We honour our tūpuna and remember the courage, leadership and aspirations that shaped this important chapter in our history.

As we mark this anniversary, may we continue to learn from the past, strengthen our connections and work together with purpose for the generations to come.

Looking ahead

There is more to come as WMG continues developing its website, communications and resources for members.

Thank you for being part of our community and for your continued interest and support.

Ngā mihi nui,

Arikinui Kurakamringi

Leader
